Privacy Policy for Fuel Finder Dash
This section applies specifically to Fuel Finder Dash, the standalone single-player driving game. It does not require an account, sign-in, name, email address, contacts, location permission, or access to photos.
Data stored on your device
Game progress, scores, unlocked cars, selected track, settings, sound preferences, and advertising-consent choices are stored locally on your device. They are used to run the game and remember your choices. DF Labs does not receive a copy of this local game data, and uninstalling the game removes it subject to your device's backup and restore features.
Advertising and consent
Fuel Finder Dash uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) for optional rewarded adverts. A player may watch an advert to receive the in-game Second Chance reward, which is granted only after Google confirms completion. Google may process device information, an advertising identifier, IP address, approximate location inferred from network information, and advert-interaction data to deliver, measure, protect, and personalise adverts.
Where required, Google's User Messaging Platform asks for consent before personalised advertising. You can change your choice from the game's ad privacy options. If personalised advertising is not permitted, Google may show non-personalised adverts. The game remains playable without accepting personalised adverts. DF Labs does not sell personal information or use the game to create a separate profile of movements.
See Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Network connections, children, and your choices
The game may connect to Google's advertising services and to the app store for links opened by the player. DF Labs does not operate an account system or game server for Fuel Finder Dash, and the game does not transmit gameplay scores or saved progress to DF Labs. The game is intended for a general audience and is not directed specifically at children.
You can refuse or withdraw ad consent through in-game ad privacy options where offered, and can reset local data by clearing app storage or uninstalling. For questions or privacy requests, contact mriamdarren@gmail.com.
Privacy Policy for Fuel Finder UK - Live Prices
Overview
Fuel Finder UK - Live Prices ("the App", "we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, how it is used, and who it is shared with. The App does not require an account, sign-up, or login.
Most of your information — your saved vehicles, favourites, preferences, and searches — stays on your device. Some features, described below, require data to be sent to UK government services or to our own and third-party servers in order to work. This policy explains exactly when that happens.
Information We Handle
1. Location Data
- What: Approximate and precise location from your device, and any start/destination you enter for route planning.
- Why: To show fuel stations near you, sort them by distance, and (in Plan Route) calculate a driving route and find the cheapest fuel along it.
- Where it goes: Sorting stations by distance happens on your device. When you use Plan Route, the start and destination coordinates are sent over HTTPS through Cloudflare to our own routing server. Routes are calculated using the open-source Valhalla routing engine and OpenStreetMap road data; your journey is not sent to Google, Apple, an advertising provider, or another third-party routing provider. If you use a Premium Home Screen widget, an approximate area rounded to roughly 3 miles is sent to our own price server to fetch live prices (see section 7). Map tiles and ads (see below) may allow their providers to infer your approximate location from your IP address.
- Storage: A computed route may be cached for up to seven days, keyed only by its rounded start and destination coordinates, so repeat requests can be served more quickly. It is not linked to you, a device identifier, or an account. Your IP address is processed transiently for abuse prevention and rate-limiting and is not stored with the route. We do not create a location history or movement profile.
2. Vehicle Information (My Cars)
- What: The vehicle registration number you choose to enter, and the details returned for it (make, model, fuel type, MOT history, tax and ULEZ status).
- Why: To show your vehicle's MOT history, tax and ULEZ status, road tax rate, and to calculate fill costs based on tank size.
- Where it goes: When you add or refresh a vehicle, the registration number is sent to the DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service and the DVSA MOT History service (both UK government services) to retrieve the vehicle's details. If our bundled performance catalogue cannot identify the vehicle, its make, model, year, fuel type, engine size and CO₂ figure may be sent to our Cloudflare backend so we can return or add reviewed performance data. The registration number is never included in that request or stored on our servers.
- Storage: Returned vehicle details and downloaded performance data are stored locally on your device. Plate-free missing-vehicle attributes may be retained on our backend to improve the performance catalogue.
3. Community Reports
- What: Reports you choose to submit (for example: out-of-fuel, queue times, closed station, suspected price errors), the station the report relates to, the report time, and your votes on other reports.
- Why: To show real-time station status to other drivers and let the community verify reports.
- Where it goes: Reports and votes are sent to and stored in our cloud database, hosted on Google Firebase / Cloud Firestore, and are visible to other users of the App. Stored report fields are the station identifier, report type, fuel type (where relevant), queue estimate (where relevant), vote direction, and timestamps. Reports are not linked to a name, account, device identifier, or advertising identifier.
- Storage: Each report is set to expire after six hours. Google may process standard connection metadata, such as an IP address, while delivering the Firestore service, but we do not store it in the report.
- Rate limiting: Anti-spam limits for Community Reports are maintained locally on your device.
4. User Preferences
- What: Selected fuel type and grade, preferred brands, search radius, sort order, theme and accent colour, and favourite stations.
- Storage: Stored locally on your device only and never sent to our servers.
5. Advertising & Identifiers
- What: Subject to your platform and consent choices, your device's advertising identifier (Apple IDFA or Android Advertising ID), device information, and ad-interaction data may be used to serve, measure, and personalise ads. Where consent is not given or personalised advertising is unavailable, Google may serve limited or non-personalised ads in accordance with your choices and applicable law.
- How we ask: On iPhone and iPad we use Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before allowing tracking. Where required, including in the UK/EEA, we use Google's certified User Messaging Platform (UMP) to collect and manage advertising consent choices.
- Provider: Google AdMob (see Third-Party Services).
- Rewarded routes: After the monthly free road-route allowance is used, free users may optionally view a rewarded advertisement to unlock the specific road route they have requested. The route is calculated before the ad is offered, and is displayed only after AdMob confirms completion. Declining or skipping the ad does not prevent use of the free straight-line route. Up to three rewarded road routes may be used per day.
6. Device & Diagnostic Information
- What: Basic technical information (such as iOS or Android version, device type and screen characteristics), diagnostic information made available by the platform or service providers, and your IP address, which is necessarily visible to any server the App contacts.
- Why: To deliver content, ensure compatibility, and keep the service secure and reliable.
7. Home Screen Widget
- Free widget: Makes no network requests of its own. It shows prices from a small cache the App saves on your device (nearby stations, your favourites and your widget settings), which never leaves your device.
- Premium widget — what we receive: When a Premium widget set to Near me refreshes (about every 30 minutes), it requests live prices for an area from our own price server. On Android, a widget set to Chosen area does the same for the town you picked. The request contains only an approximate location rounded to a grid of roughly 3 miles (two decimal places of latitude and longitude), the distance you chose and how many stations to return.
- Where the location comes from: For Near me, the widget uses your device's location under the permission you have already given the App; it never asks for extra or "always" location access. On iPhone and iPad the widget may take its own location reading when it refreshes. On Android it uses the last location the system makes available, otherwise where you last opened the App. For Chosen area it is the centre of the town you picked.
- Why: To show the cheapest fuel near you, or near your chosen town, without you having to open the App.
- How it's processed: Over HTTPS to our own server on Cloudflare. Because locations are rounded, everyone in the same area makes the same request, and responses are cached for up to 15 minutes keyed only by that rounded area.
- Storage: Widget requests are not linked to you, a device identifier or an account, and are not kept as a location history. As with any connection, your IP address is processed transiently to deliver and protect the service.
- Chosen town: The town you pick is stored on your device. Looking it up uses the same place search as the App's postcode and town search, which is provided by your device's platform (Apple or Google).
8. Sharing a Station's Price
- When you tap Share on a station, the App builds a message (the station's price, address and a map link) and hands it to your device's share sheet. You choose who receives it. We do not receive or store anything you share.
How We Use Your Information
- Find and rank nearby fuel stations based on your location.
- Display fuel prices sourced from official UK government (CMA) open data.
- Plan routes and find the cheapest fuel along your journey.
- Show your vehicle's MOT, tax and ULEZ information in My Cars.
- Power Community Reports so drivers can share live station status.
- Remember your preferences and improve app performance.
- Keep the Home Screen widget up to date, including live prices for an approximate area for Premium widgets.
- Show advertising (unless you have purchased the ad-free upgrade).
Data Sharing
We do NOT:
- ❌ Sell your personal information.
- ❌ Share your precise location or journey with advertisers.
- ❌ Send your journey to a third-party routing provider.
- ❌ Create a profile of your movements or location history.
- ❌ Store your vehicle registration number on our own servers.
- ❌ Require an account, name, or email address to use the App.
Third-Party Services
The App relies on the following services. Data is shared with them only to provide the feature described, and each has its own privacy policy:
| Service | Used for | Data involved | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apple MapKit | Displaying maps on iPhone and iPad | Map interactions, approximate location | apple.com/legal/privacy |
| Google Maps Platform | Displaying maps on Android | Map interactions, location and standard connection information when map features are used | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Our backend (Cloudflare Workers) | Fuel price data, Premium widget area prices, route calculation and reviewed vehicle performance data | IP address; route start/destination coordinates when you plan a route; an approximate area (rounded to roughly 3 miles) for Premium widgets; plate-free vehicle attributes when performance data is unavailable | cloudflare.com/privacypolicy |
| Google Firebase / Cloud Firestore | Storing & sharing Community Reports | Report content, station identifier, vote direction and timestamps; no app-level user or device identifier | firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service | Vehicle lookup in My Cars | Vehicle registration number | DVLA privacy |
| DVSA MOT History service | MOT history in My Cars | Vehicle registration number | DVSA privacy |
| Google AdMob | Banner and native advertising; optional rewarded route advertising | Advertising ID, device info, ad interactions | AdMob policy |
| Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) | Collecting ad-consent (UK/EU) | Consent choices | policies.google.com/privacy |
Data Retention
- On-device data (preferences, favourites, saved vehicles and their details) stays on your device and is deleted when you remove it in the App or uninstall.
- Community Reports are set to expire after six hours and may be removed sooner. Because they are not linked to an account, contact us if you need a specific report removed.
- Computed routes may be cached for up to seven days using rounded start and destination coordinates. They are not linked to a user, device or account.
- Widget area responses may be cached for up to 15 minutes, keyed only by the rounded area. They are not linked to a user, device or account.
- Vehicle registration numbers are sent to DVLA/DVSA only to perform a lookup and are not stored on our servers.
- Missing-vehicle attributes (make, model, year, fuel type, engine size and CO₂) may be retained without a registration number so we can prioritise and publish missing performance data.
Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the data and services involved. App and widget traffic to our backend, including route and widget area requests, is protected in transit using HTTPS. Nearby-station location processing and preferences remain on your device except where this policy explains that a feature requires transmission. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your Rights and Choices
Location Permissions
You can revoke location access at any time. On iPhone or iPad, use Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Fuel Finder UK. On Android, use Settings → Apps → Fuel Finder UK → Permissions → Location (wording may vary by device). You can still search by entering a location manually if you deny access.
Tracking & Ad Personalisation
Use Privacy Choices inside the App where that option is available to review advertising consent. On iPhone or iPad, you can also change tracking permission via Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and control Apple personalised ads via Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising. On Android, you can manage or reset the Advertising ID and ad privacy choices in Google settings (the exact path varies by Android version). Purchasing the one-time ad-free upgrade removes all ads, including rewarded ads where offered.
Data Deletion
- Uninstalling the App permanently deletes all data stored on your device.
- To request removal of a Community Report, email support@fuelfinderuk.live.
Children's Privacy
The App is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. It contains no age-inappropriate content.
Legal Basis for Processing (UK GDPR / EU GDPR)
For users in the UK and EU, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Consent: Location access, App Tracking Transparency, and personalised advertising.
- Legitimate Interest: Providing nearby station results, Community Reports, security, and app reliability.
- Performance of a service you request: Vehicle (DVLA/DVSA) lookups, route calculation, and Premium widget area prices, which run only when you use those features.
Your GDPR Rights
If you are in the UK or EU, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Because the App holds most data only on your device and uses no accounts, many of these are exercised directly on your device. For anything else, contact support@fuelfinderuk.live. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
